I was rewarded yesterday with a surprise DM in my Tweetbox.
It seems Medibank health insurance’s digital marketing and social media team loved my breakfast smoothie recipe so much they decided to reward me for it.
After retweeting my recipe and accompanying image, I got a direct message from Alex @Medibank letting me know they’d like to reward me for making healthy choices by sending me a pair of 2XU running tights. Apparently it’s all part of their #GenBetter campaign, rewarding healthy choices.
I’m happy with that!
This was the first I’d heard of the #GenBetter movement, which is interesting given I am a Medibank customer. The campaign encourages people to take little steps to better health and connect via social media, in turn encouraging participants to live a healthier, happier life.
Seasoned marketeers are all too aware that today’s world is an information world. People are overloaded with information and have immediate access to the best information sources at all times.
If you want to convey your marketing message to people, who are bombarded by the minute with information, you need to think creatively. Well done Medibank!
A great campaign. To participate follow @Medibank on Twitter and jump onto the Generation Better website.
Shall keep you posted on when I receive my new running tights!
