How many serves of fruit and vegetables should we be eating?

 

The 2 fruit and 5 vegetables rule is a good rule of thumb in general. The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating identifies the serves for adults, adolescents and children according to their age and life stage.

The recommended daily intake for adults is at least 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables, although pregnant and breastfeeding women need to amp this up to about 4 and 6.

Spring has sprung and for many of us that means the harrowing realization that very soon, we’re going to have to slip back into swimwear.

I love the warmer weather and being lucky enough to have a beach house, the thought of long Summer days spent beachside finished off with a glass of Champagne watching the sunset makes me giddy with anticipation. Balmy nights, night time swims, kaftans and bejeweled sandals, summer dresses, Sunday sessions, outdoor training, BBQ’s, Summer salads and seafood… I love the mental picture this paints.
